The Incentive Travel Playbook

Designing a reward journey around the people who won it, and delivering it without them seeing the operation.

The timeline

Milestones, working backwards.

Dates are relative to the event. Anything that has slipped past its marker here is not automatically lost, but it is no longer free — and the honest conversation is better had now than in the final fortnight.

The principles

What this format rewards.

01

Profile decides destination

Flight tolerance, activity appetite, seniority, whether partners travel, dietary and cultural requirements. These are more useful than a list of the year’s fashionable cities.

02

Buy access, not just nights

The part people remember is what they could not have arranged themselves. That takes local relationships and lead time, which is why the destination locks early.

03

Pace it like a holiday

Guests should have unhurried days. Behind that, arrivals staged, transfers manifested, dietary requirements held by name, a host awake for the delayed connection.

04

Design the recognition moment

Scripted, lit, rehearsed, names pronounced correctly. The photograph circulates internally for the next twelve months.

That is the plan. We can also be the ones running it.

Every milestone above has an owner, a date and a consequence for missing it. If you would rather that owner was us, send the format, the dates and the headcount.
