TorontoNorth American reach without the North American visa problem
A downtown convention centre connected to the hotels underground, and an entry regime that admits delegate lists the United States will not.
The honest version
Toronto is the pragmatic answer for a North American event with an international delegate list. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre sits downtown, linked to hotels and transit by the underground PATH network so a February programme never puts anyone outside. Pearson has strong transatlantic and Asian service, and Canadian entry admits nationalities that would fail a US visa interview.
The thing to price properly is labour. Show services at Canadian convention centres are unionised, and rigging, electrical, material handling and stand build all carry rules about who may touch what. It is not a problem — it is predictable and safe — but a budget built on European or Asian assumptions will be wrong by a material margin.
Best suited to
- North American conferences with international delegates
- Financial services, technology and life sciences meetings
- Association congresses and trade shows
- Programmes where a US entry regime is a delegate risk

Operating notes
What actually decides whether Toronto works for you.
Airlift, hotel capacity, ground and season — in that order, and before anyone falls in love with a photograph.
Access and airlift
Pearson (YYZ) is a major hub with strong transatlantic, Asian and US coverage. Billy Bishop (YTZ) sits on the waterfront for regional traffic. The UP Express reaches downtown in twenty-five minutes.
Hotels and capacity
Deep downtown inventory connected to the convention centre by the PATH, which is the whole argument for a winter programme here.
Ground and distance
Compact downtown core, reliable transit, and an underground network that removes weather from the delegate day. Coach movement is straightforward outside peak.
Season and calendar
May to October for anything with outdoor content. Winter works well because of the PATH, but plan for genuine cold and occasional flight disruption.
