CopenhagenThe easiest city in which to make a sustainability claim survive audit
Nordic hub airport, a congress centre that has been measuring its own footprint for years, and a supply chain where the low-carbon option is the default one.
The honest version
Copenhagen is where sustainability commitments stop being a slide. District heating, an electrified ground fleet, venues that publish their own energy and waste data, and caterers who already work to plant-forward menus mean the reporting you promised the board is achievable rather than aspirational.
It is expensive, and pretending otherwise wastes everybody’s time. Labour, food and beverage all cost more than continental Europe. What you get back is a city where almost nothing goes wrong and the delegate experience is quietly excellent.

Operating notes
What actually decides whether Copenhagen works for you.
Airlift, hotel capacity, ground and season — in that order, and before anyone falls in love with a photograph.
Access and airlift
Kastrup (CPH) is the Nordic hub with good long-haul and dense regional coverage. The metro reaches the centre in fifteen minutes and Bella Center has its own station.
Hotels and capacity
High quality, high cost, and tighter than people expect in summer. Block early and expect to negotiate on inclusions rather than on rate.
Ground and distance
Metro and cycling do most of the work. Coaches are straightforward; walking and cycling routes are genuinely usable for delegate movement.
Season and calendar
May to September for daylight and outdoor content. Winter works for indoor congresses but the light is short and it shapes the programme.
