The honest version
Las Vegas is the most operationally efficient place on earth to run a very large conference or exhibition. Enormous halls, tens of thousands of rooms within walking distance, and a workforce that does nothing but this.
The trade-offs are the calendar and the labour rules. When a major show is in town everything is full, and union jurisdiction over rigging, electrical and freight is strict and expensive.
