Access and airlift
KLIA is well connected across Asia, the Gulf and Australia, with good regional low-cost coverage. Visa-free entry for many nationalities.
Humberto Delgado (LIS) has strong European coverage plus Americas and Africa links; the airport is unusually close to the city.
Hotels
Strong inventory around KLCC and Bukit Bintang, with good value in the five-star tier.
Good quality and value, but capacity is the constraint in peak weeks.
Ground
Reasonable, though traffic builds at peak. Airport transfers take about an hour; the express rail is a good option for smaller groups.
Short transfers and an easy city to move around. Hills and narrow old-town streets restrict coach access in places.
Season
Year-round with frequent short rain. Ramadan and Hari Raya affect catering and supplier availability.
April to June and September to October are best. Major congress weeks remove hotel availability entirely.
