Access and airlift
Jaipur (JAI) has good domestic coverage and limited international service; most overseas delegates connect through Delhi. The Delhi–Jaipur expressway makes the road option realistic at around four hours.
Humberto Delgado (LIS) has strong European coverage plus Americas and Africa links; the airport is unusually close to the city.
Hotels
Excellent at the luxury end, with real heritage inventory. Mid-market stock is thinner than the palace headlines suggest, so a mixed-tier block needs checking early.
Good quality and value, but capacity is the constraint in peak weeks.
Ground
Straightforward by Indian standards. Palace and fort venues have restricted vehicle access, so the last leg of an evening transfer often needs smaller vehicles or a walk.
Short transfers and an easy city to move around. Hills and narrow old-town streets restrict coach access in places.
Season
October to March. April to June is extremely hot. Factor the November to February wedding season into both availability and rate.
April to June and September to October are best. Major congress weeks remove hotel availability entirely.
